Hey all, I hope that you are having a great week so far. It’s time to address the events that have unfolded in the last week in Iran.
An extraordinary freedom seeking movement has come to life in Iran. A general election occurred last Friday. An election in which the future of Iran would get decided. Many years of oppression and deprivation of liberty for this Persian nation made it even more eminent for voters to turn out to choose a political path for Iran. The current leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a hard-core fundamentalist has ruled Iran with an iron fist. He has procured the enforcement of Islamic laws that limit the freedom of women as well as non-Muslims. He has on several occasions threatened to obliterate Israel, and he also has spoken against the United States. The other candidate Mousavi, a known proponent of reforming Iran as well as relaxing some of the strict social policies currently in place.
Some of the figures put out by the Iranian government estimates that about 33 million Iranians voted on Friday’s election. Suspicion started brewing when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared the winner three hours after polls closed. It’s difficult to believe that 33 million votes were counted so quickly especially when paper ballots were used. How could so many ballots get counted so fast. Also, since Friday’s election massive demonstrations have taken place in the streets of Tehran. Some of these protests have resulted in violent acts. The police has responded to the demonstrators by shooting into the air, shooting into the crowds, and through the use of batons which are effective at leaving painful bruises on the bodies of anyone who dares speak out against Ahmadinejad’s reelection.
It’s really disappointing to know that the Obama administration took so long to respond to the events unfolding in Iran. At first President Barack Obama was hesitant to comment on the matter. He simply applauded the “robust debates” that were taking place prior to the election. He credited ”the speech I gave in Cairo” to possibly resulting in some change in that sector of the world.
President Obama’s speech in Cairo never denounced Ahmadinejad’s regime. He hoped to reach out to the same government that Iranian’s are trying to free themselves from. He still hopes to have an open dialogue with a dictator who treats his constituents like he does a bag of trash. So far his attempt at soft war hasn’t resulted in much of anything. Why didn’t he praise the courageous efforts of Iranians who have risked their lives trying to bring change to their country? Why hasn’t he applauded the sacrifice that Iranian’s have made over the past 2 decades to finally taste freedom? Why didn’t he shame Tehran for the horrible treatment of women when it comes to their lack of liberties? Instead he remains strong in his approach to talk with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s government.
All of us who enjoy the ability to speak out against our own government, enjoy a free press, and enjoy freedom of speech should toast to the future of Iran. We should continue to encourage them to fight for what they believe in. Iranians should know that we will continue supporting their cause even if our government openly won’t do so. A free Iran would eliminate a huge potential threat to our national security as well as that of the Israelis. Al Qaeda and North Korea would cease to have a major source when it comes to the supplying of weapons such as missiles, uranium, etc. A free and more moderate Iran is best for their as well as our future. James.

Legal racial bias.
Hey all, I need to address an issue that isn’t getting as much attention as I hoped. President Barack Obama in his quest to impose his views in every aspect of the federal government has now taken another step in the destruction of the American legal system. He has done so through the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor. Chuck Schumers endorsement will provide the Liberal support needed during her confirmation process in order to get confirmed. This nomination hopefully won’t get through if Americans who care about our Constitution, legal process, and country start speaking out against her.
I am not going to attack her judicial philosophy. Her record speaks for itself. Anyone with an objective mind will realize how bias her decisions have been throughout her career. Barack Obama’s intention to bring equality or so called representation for Hispanic through his nominee shows how little he knows about the Supreme Court. This highly revered body makes crucial decisions that affect everyone living in the United States. The Court can’t enforce it’s own decisions, but their decisions sometimes create cultural phenomenon more impacting than some laws. Also, the Court shouldn’t consist of politically motivated individuals regardless of their own ideology. A Supreme Court Justice needs to decide if the cases brought to them are in accordance with the Constitution. They are supposed to decide if a lower Court’s ruling abides by the Constitution as well. A Justice’s race, ethnicity, gender, nor ideology should even be a factor.
Barack Obama has brought more attention to race in everything he has done as President than any other President. Ironically he was supposed to prove that race doesn’t matter since he was the first African American elected to the White House. He did it when he ran for President, he did it when he chose Eric Holden as his Attorney General, and he is doing it now by nominating Judge Sotomayor. His goal by nominating her wasn’t to substitute Justice David Souter with a highly qualified jurist. He wanted to nominate someone who would balance the Court in terms of race and ethnicity. I hope Obama remembers what kind of decisions the Court has made in the past. Did the Justices race or ethnicity matter in their decision in Plessy, Korematsu, Roe, or Grutter and Gratz. All these cases affected America’s society and culture based on the decisions the Court made. If Obama manipulates the judiciary branch with his nominee it’ll mean that one more radical tentacle will get wrapped around another part of the federal government. It’ll mean that political stances will now supercede fairness and lawfulness in the Courtroom. Sotomayor could have the power to sway others in the Court if she gets confirmed.
It’s time once again for Americans to use their voices. Let Congress know that radical judges aren’t supposed to exist in a fair judicial system. It isn’t a perfect system, but it sure beats most other ones. Let those in power know that they have the ability to make sure that at least one part of the government maintains some objectivity. Who wants to one day have a day in Court knowing that you stand no chance in hell of succeeding due to your own personal beliefs? It isn’t too late to make sure no more activist judges are rewarded for trampling on the Constitution by using their own values as the deciding factor in a case. The idea of nominating Harriet Myers just to replace Sandra Day O’Connor with another woman on the Court was thankfully rectified, and I hope that a more impartial judge gets nominated to replace Justice Souter. James.

Socialism alert.
Socialism Alert.
Hey all, I haven’t written a piece for my blog in quite a long time. I plan to start up once again, and I will also do my podcast as well. So let’s take this country back.
Well, I along with other broadcasters have since the start claimed that Barack Obama practices socialism. Many hypothesized that this was a label by Conservatives to attack the President. I now have concrete proof that no one can deny. Some will still do so though.
Let’s take a short trip down memory lane. After several gargantuan attempts to revive the economy by the President, Secretary of the Treasury Geithner, and the Democratic Party have hurt more than helped the economy. Their attempts so far has resulted in the increase of the national debt by a staggering amount, a futile attempt to rescue GM and Chrysler, and finally expanded the power of the government. Keep in mind that the President claimed that we needed to “practice responsible politics from Wall Street to Main Street.”
Well Mr. Obama needs to learn how to practice “responsible” politics. This weekend four banks from New York, California, Indiana, and Louisiana. All were planning to return each and every single penny given to them by the federal government including the interest accumulated on the so called loan they received earlier this year. The President refused to take any of the money back. A brilliant piece by Stuart Varney says it best, “My answer: The government wants to control the banks, just as it now controls GM and Chrysler, and will surely control the health industry in the not-too-distant future.” That’s right, it is all about power. Why wouldn’t the President after forcing GM to fire their CEO welcome some of the money back, money that was taken away from the tax payers as a loan to the banking industry to help out in this time of economic uncertainty? The reason is really clear, if they accepted the money back this wouldn’t allow him or his administration to manipulate the financial circle. They essentially run GM, Chrysler, the banking industry,, and AIG already.
I said it in my podcast. He doesn’t care about the American people, about our rich history, or the industries that have been the heart of the American economy. The aid to the bank might have appeared to some as benign, but all the regulations written in the bill passed by Congress works more as a manipulation weapon for the administration. How can a man claim to have the American tax payer best interest whenever he is undermining the very foundation of this country’s economic system known as capitalism. Do you still need further proof? These are socialist based policies those used in countries like Cuba, Russia, and North Korea. They don’t serve any purpose other than increase the power of the person in charge. Lets see what Uncle Sam guided by Obama takes over next. James.

Real change in November?
Hey all, political conversations are on overload now that we have the two candidates. Well not exactly official, but I’m sure they’ll be the one’s running. I don’t care for either candidate, but what change does Barack Obama really bring?
Everyone has recognized how in most of his speeches Senator Obama has often suggested that life will be better when Uncle Sam takes care of you. Uncle Sam can do according to Mr. Obama anything from cure your illnesses, make sure you are never unemployed, and restore our image around the world. He made references to all these “changes” in his acceptance speech in MN. We have finally found a consistent characteristic in his campaign.
According to the Congressional Research Service Obama has voted on 1231 votes since January 2005. He continues to promise the expansion of government which matches the 131 bills he has sponsored. I wonder how radical those bills must be when 118 of them don’t even make it out of committee. He has also cosponsored 619 bills during this time as well. Come on Uncle Sam fix all my problems.
I find the idea that government can fix all my problems a giant mistake. We have individual freedoms for a reason. If the government can stay away from my affair as much as possible I am a happy man. They should play a vital role in the enforcement of some laws, but they don’t need to nanny sit all Americans. How do you feel about the idea of an expanding government? Do you want the government to control your life as some propose? I know that my sarcasm is quite apparent, but if people don’t object it can happen. It already does exist to a certain extent. James.
